Reference Excel worksheet with default and recommended Internet Explorer 7 Security Zone and Security Level configuration settings

IE7Security.xls is a Microsoft Excel 2003 workbook containing one formatted worksheet in which are recorded:

  • How each security configuration option is set by each of the five predefined IE7 Security Levels (Low, Medium-low, Medium, Medium-high, High).

  • A complete set of recommended option settings for each of the four IE7 Security Zones (Local Intranet, Trusted Sites, Internet, Restricted). The settings define a higher degree of security than you get when you merely use the slider controls to apply predefined Security Levels to the Zones.

  • Notes about some of the settings.

The worksheet can also be an easy way to record the security settings you actually use in case you ever need to duplicate them or restore them.

This worksheet contains the source data for the tables in the following two articles and is formatted similarly to the tables on those pages:

The data in the table is current as of 5/23/2008. Microsoft has occasionally changed the individual option settings provided by the predefined Levels.
