Sunsets, clouds, and weather

Storm cloud sunset. The purples are gone, but the orange is brighter. Looks like the surface of the sea brilliantly lit, but I think it's all sky.

Earthquake damage and other bicycling scenery

The Berkeley and East Bay area has wonderfully scenic bicycling routes. Rural hilly countryside is only a few miles away. A 35 mile ride can provide miles of long straightaways on good roads, plus steep ascents and descents.

Earthquake damage near Bear Creek Road on east side of Berkeley Hills. From farther back, what it looked like when I encountered it. A large degree of displacement. The nearby hills are scenic.
Inspiration Point trail, which goes to the concrete remnants of an abandoned Nike missile base. Tiburon and Marin County viewed from the Berkeley Hills. Tree on a golden hillside against a blue sky on a brilliant summer day. The hot smells of dried grass and baked dirt fill the air.
Nimitz Trail Way, which departs from Inspiration Point in Tilden Regional Park, only a few miles bike ride from Berkeley. Looking across the bay to Marin County from a park in the Berkeley hills. Tree on a hill, possibly near Briones Regional Park near Orinda.
