Program-generated music for pipe organ

I'm working on a computer program that composes and plays music entirely on its own. I think the music is interesting and some of it is enjoyable.

Toccata #1, G Major - Purchase Please request by email. Read FAQ first. US$2.00 1.7 MB 07:01
Lively rhythmic counterpoint in G Major. I like this 7 minute piece and have listened to it a lot. It is an amazingly rich source of counterpoint ideas, with unusual rhythms and note durations in appealing combinations that a human composer wouldn't think of.
Miscellaneous organ music clips Stream M3U Download MP3 1.2 MB 05:06
An assortment of clips, an introduction to what this music sounds like.
Slow soothing organ music Stream M3U Download MP3 2.1 MB 09:00
Pleasant, leisurely, church-like counterpoint. Toward the end is a key and mode change.

Blues

Music played by humans, not a computer.

Snarling blues instrumental Stream M3U Download MP3 1 MB 05:21
Double-tracked Stratocaster electric guitar, rhythm and lead (Steve). Double-tracking is recording one track first, then the other.
Spacey Blues Jam Stream M3U Download MP3 1 MB 04:43
Spacey minor key blues instrumental. Gibson SG guitar (Jamie), Piano (Steve), electric bass (Vince).

Weird Electronic Music

"In the moment" music that seems to focus attention and can be used in meditation although not serene.

MP3 Download Troubleshooting

The MP3 files are in 22050Hz 32Kbps constant bitrate CBR format.

Streaming audio

When you stream a file, your browser downloads the small .m3u text file which is a Windows Media Player playlist containing the web address of the file to play. After downloading enough to get started, WMP plays it from the beginning while downloading the rest of it. When a file finishes playing, you can save it from within WMP using File > Save As... You don't need to download it a second time.

How to start streaming:

  1. Left-click the link that says Stream M3U.
  2. When prompted, click Open to launch your media player and start playback. You can continue browsing the internet while it plays. (In this dialog box, if you click Save, it just saves the m3u file, which is usually not a useful option. Nothing plays.)

Other media players might or might not support the .m3u playlist format, and there are other reasons streaming can fail, such as if you are behind a firewall. If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to be working, just download the MP3 and play it from your computer. That's the reliable method. See the next section.

How to download files (recommended)

If you left-click the Download MP3 link, what your browser does depends on the browser and can be unpredictable. It might prompt you to save the file, or it might play it, or it might give you a choice. Therefore, the following method is more reliable:

  1. Right-click Download MP3 and choose Save Target As... or Save Link As...
  2. When prompted, choose a location to save the file.
  3. After you have the music file, you can play it with any media player.
