Music

[First, you can stop the music by pressing ESC or the Stop button.]

In the 1970's I used to get together with friends to play music. This page will have some of the recordings that have no copyright complications.

Instruments represented in various combinations (only 2-3 at a time) include piano, Gibson SG electric guitar (great sound that I always envied), Fender Stratocaster, acoustic guitars, bass guitar, no drums but sometimes a drum machine, and sometimes singing, often very bad, but you'll be spared that because the songs we sang were mostly other people's, and those can't be included here. Lucky you!

The musical styles are blues, rock with a sort of jazz-like improvisational approach (mostly tame, relaxed rock by today's standards), and some long weird improvisations. What we aimed for was to have interesting musical ideas and trade them back and forth while playing, and once in a while we might have managed that.

If you Save a file after streaming it, or if you download it, you can listen to it as many times as you like, and you can give unmodified copies of it to others if you preserve the copyright notice and the metadata embedded in the file. It is for personal use only. Public performances and all commercial uses or distributions (including on other websites) are not permitted.

How to stream or download

  • Files are in MP3 format, constant bitrate, for (hopefully) the greatest chance of compatibility.
  • If you have problems with streaming, downloading, or with file compatibilities, please let me know so I can fix whatever's wrong or explain here how to avoid the problem.

To Stream:

  1. Click the top line of the entry (the file name with the .m3u file extension).
  2. When prompted, click Open to launch your media player and start playback. You can continue browsing the internet while it plays. (If you click Save at this dialog box, it just saves the m3u file, which is a short text file containing the name of the mp3.)
  3. If you decide you want to keep it, click File > Save As... in your media player.

To Download:

  1. Click the file's "Download mp3" link,
  2. When prompted, click Save, and choose a location.
